Who doesn't love futuristic user interfaces? I rewatched Neon Genesis and had to bust open Illustrator to throw some lines down. I find making these so therapeutic, it's hard to get going but once the ball is rolling I could sit for hours just putting basic shapes and lines together. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see what I had in mind when having a go at this myself.
I wanted my UI to look like what the inside of a sci-fi visor or drone interface might resemble. I worked outward from the middle, as I wanted it to look like a reticle for aiming and then loads of data and menus for the pilot. After I was happy with the general look, I took it into After Effects to add some motion and flare to my basic design.
